Augustinus Bader The Skin Renewal System Review

Augustinus Bader The Skin Renewal System

There are certain brands that instantly provoke The Question “Is it really worth the money?”. And Augustinus Bader is one of them. For me, the only way to find out was to take the plunge during the SpaceNK Christmas sale when I saw the Augustinus Bader The Skin Renewal System in the sale. I’d already tried a mini of The Rich Cream (and liked it very much), so I wanted to dip into a few more from the range to see if the rest lived up.

Augustinus Bader The Cream Cleansing Gel Review

Texture-wise, it’s pleasant. It’s a lightweight gel that emulsifies into a soft milk on contact with water. There’s a subtle lather, a nice clean rinse, and a perfectly respectable cleanse. The addition of soothing botanicals like aloe, cucumber, and rose water make it especially suitable for morning or second cleanses. It contains the brand’s signature TFC8® complex, which allegedly boosts skin renewal. Though I often wonder whether it survives the rinse stage. My verdict? Perfectly lovely, but not £58 lovely. There are cleansers half the price that feel more luxurious and clean just as well, if not better.

Augustinus Bader The Essence Review

Now, this one is trickier to call. It’s an exfoliating liquid with phytic acid, salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, plus wasabi ferment. Used consistently, it delivers smoother texture, more even tone, and less congestion. It works, but then again, so do many others.

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream Review

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do. It’s rich without being greasy, and velvety in a way that makes skin feel cocooned rather than coated. The TFC8 complex, combined with argan, avocado and evening primrose oils, makes it intensely nourishing. It’s exactly what I reach for after a retinoid night. Has it changed my skin beyond recognition? No. Have I used other creams that yield better results? Certainly. But there’s something about this one. The texture, the finish, the sheer pleasure of applying it. In the age-old battle of La Mer vs Bader, I firmly sit in the latter camp.

In short, only one item truly justifies the price for me. That’s the cream. The rest? Nice enough, but not irreplaceable.

The Augustinus Bader The Skin Renewal System is a great way to try the products out if you’ve always been intrigued. The sizes are fairly generous to give you a good idea of how the products will work for your skin.
