It was during a SpaceNK sale scroll that I added the Rare Beauty Find Comfort Hydrating Hand Cream to my basket. Partly because I needed a hand cream, partly because it was on sale, and partly because I was nosey about what Selena Gomez’s hyped brand was doing outside of makeup. What arrived was a genuinely lovely surprise.
What is it?
A hand cream to soften and moisturise hands and nails.
What Do I Think?
This is a hand cream that does exactly what it says it will. It hydrates without heaviness, nourishes without that dreaded filmy residue, and leaves hands feeling cared-for, not coated. Formulated with skin-soothing niacinamide, antioxidant-rich peach flower extract and ashwagandha (the natural de-stressor everyone’s talking about lately). It’s a considered formula and worked well for my dry hands, especially over winter.
Fragrance-wise, it’s surprisingly lovely. There’s a sparkling top note of lemon zest and rhubarb, but it’s grounded by a clean blend of violet, jasmine, tonka and a soft hit of cashmere woods and vetiver to name a few. It’s cosy, fresh and comforting. It’s he sort of scent you’d happily wear as a personal skin like fragrance if it came in a bottle. I feel it leans slightly feminine, but wouldn’t be offensive to a man should he choose to use it.
In terms of texture, it’s spot on. Balmy enough to soften dry cuticles, light enough to use between typing and texting. You can open doors, hold a glass, even scribble in a notebook immediately after applying – a detail that might sound small, but is the true mark of a good hand cream.
And now, the packaging. Visually, it’s gorgeous. It’s minimal, portable, even designed as a massage applicator for targeting pressure points. But this is where function gets sacrificed for form. Once you’re past the halfway mark, getting product out becomes an Olympic event. It requires two hands, a solid grip, and a fair amount of strength and frustration. As someone without dexterity issues, I struggled – which makes Rare Beauty’s inclusive ethos feel a touch undermined here. It’s also difficult to cut open, so you’re likely to waste a fair bit at the end.
It’s a shame, because the formula inside is near perfect – comforting, nourishing, beautifully scented and expertly made. I’ll probably repurchase, but I’ll curse the tube when I do, and be sure to hit the gym ahead of time to build my strength.

Would I recommend?
I would totally recommend the Rare Beauty Find Comfort Hydrating Hand Cream. It’s got a nice consistency and texture, and doesn’t leave my hands feeling slippy or greasy. The packaging, however, less so. I hope they re-think the packaging in the future.
