I’ve tried a fair few skincare gadgets over the years, and most of them, after a while, end up consigned to a drawer. The ZIIP Halo, however, is one of the rare exceptions and easily the most effective at home device I’ve used.
What does the ZIIP Halo Do?
It works with both Microcurrent and Nanocurrent. Microcurrent is the more intense of the two, stimulating muscles, increasing ATP (the energy cells run on), and generally delivering that instant “tightened” look. Nanocurrent, on the other hand, is more delicate, mimicking the body’s natural electrical currents to encourage renewal and repair. Together, they claim to address everything from sagging and fine lines to pigmentation and breakouts. I can’t vouch for all of those, but the immediate firming and sculpting, particularly around my jawline, is undeniable.

How To Use
Four minutes, every other day, is all it takes. I glide it along my jaw for two minutes each side and the lift is visible straight away, and not just to me, my partner has noticed too, which is saying something. Having used other Microcurrent devices in my time, I wasn’t really sure the results were worth the time and effort of using it but the ZIIP Halo feels faster, easier, and more rewarding.
You’ll need a conductive gel, and while ZIIP recommends its own range, I’ve been perfectly happy with the Electric Complex Gel. The device itself comes with a four-minute pre-set, but if you want something more targeted, their app has plenty of guided routines.
What to use it with
The ZIIP Halo will only work with a conductive serum or gel. ZIIP offers several different gels to use ranging in price from £24.99 up to £199.99. I’ve been happy using the Electric Complex Gel which works well (and is luckily the cheapest). Five pumps is plenty to give the right slip for the device to do its job and glide easily across my face.
After use, you simply need to rinse away the gel and carry on with your skincare routine. You don’t have to avoid anything after use – you can use whatever product you like afterwards.
How does it feel?
When using it, it can feel a little peculiar. Your lips and muscles can twitch, your teeth buzz slightly, and it can feel as though your hair is being moved. But it’s not painful in the slightest. If anything, I kind of like it and find it reassuring, because it feels like it’s doing something. That being said, if you shave your face, you may want to avoid using straight after shaving. Post-shave it can feel a little bit ‘prickly’, so I’d recommend using it before shaving, or giving it 12 hours before using post-shave.

The App
The device is pre-programmed with a four minute treatment, which means you can use it whenever you like without the App. If you want some more targeted treatments, you can download their app where you will find a plethora of routines with videos to follow along.
Verdict
Like any tool, the key is consistency. If you won’t use it, don’t buy it. But if you will, this is one of the few I’d wholeheartedly recommend. I was sent mine with no obligation to write about it, yet if it broke tomorrow, I’d buy another without hesitation. It’s that good. I don’t think I could be without it.
How much does it cost?
The ZIIP Halo will set you back £379.99. It’s an investment, so you want to make sure you will commit to using it before buying it. If you’re commited, using code SKINT at checkout will get you 10% off. (Code is not affiliated, so I do not earn money when it’s used).
