Elemis does indulgence better than almost anyone. The textures, the scents, the sheer feeling of comfort baked into its best products are hard to match, and for me, the Skin Nourishing range is the epitome of that. The Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath is one of those quiet little luxuries I save for when the weather turns and life feels a bit too sharp around the edges.
What is it?
A decadent bathing milk designed for excessively dry skin.
What Do I Think?
First things first, this is not a bubble bath. If your idea of bliss is a mountain of froth and the sort of suds you could lose a toddler in, you’ll be disappointed here. This is a bath crème. A velvety, creamy liquid that turns hot water into a soft, opaque soak. It doesn’t froth much, it just gently envelops skin in something that feels soothing and restorative from the minute you sink into it.
The formula is powered by milk protein, Japanese camellia oil and oat extract, all known for their ability to nourish, calm and condition. The result is that you step out of the bath feeling moisturised rather than parched. There’s no frantic reach for the body lotion required. In fact, your skin is left silky and supple, lightly scented with that wonderfully nostalgic Skin Nourishing aroma (part clean laundry, part baby lotion, part soft floral). It’s comfort in a bottle, really warm, cocooning, endlessly reassuring.
I was surprised to learn that you can also use this on the scalp and hair, and though I can’t yet vouch for its smoothing claims there, I can easily imagine the formula lending itself to that use. If nothing else, it would leave hair and body faintly scented with that addictive, gentle fragrance.
Would I say it’s essential? Of course not. But skincare and bodycare aren’t just about essentials, they’re about ritual, about how something makes you feel at the end of a long day. And for me, this feels a little like a hug in liquid form.

Would I recommend?
If you want pure utility, Radox or Dove will do just fine. If you want your Sunday night soak to feel like selfcare at its most decadent, Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath is one of the few bath products I’d truly call worth it.
