If you caught my thoughts on the Ouai St Barts range, it won’t shock you to learn that I’m fully on board with their haircare too. What I like about Ouai is the ease – you pick your shampoo and conditioner by hair type: Fine, Medium or Thick. No faffing or trying to self diagnose hair conditions. My hair, once solidly in the Thick camp, has mellowed into Medium territory over the years, so that’s what I went for.
The bottles are sleek, minimal and look properly smart in the shower. But the standout here is the fragrance which the brand name the Mercer Street fragrance. It’s a beautifully balanced blend of Italian lemon, Turkish rose, jasmine sambac, iris, lily, and white musk. It smells like an expensive salon.

Equally impressive – silky without being heavy, hydrating without greasiness. It rinses clean and leaves no tell-tale residue, which is no small feat for something this moisturising.
Together, they leave my hair feeling properly clean and touchably soft – never squeaky, never straw-like. They’ve slotted seamlessly into my routine.
