When I’m looking for a fragrance, I generally want something that turns heads. Give me heat, spice and pure sexiness. Something that smells like it’s been worn with the intention of going out and pulling. And the Tom Ford Eau d’Ombré Leather fits that brief to the letter.

My Thoughts
Gifted to me at Christmas after a flirtation with a sample sprayed a little too liberally in a department store, this scent is leathery, and unapologetically bold. It opens, as the name would suggest, with leather. Not the dainty leather of a handbag or glove, but the fresh, slightly industrial scent of a brand new pair of leather boots being opened from the box for the first time. It’s unapologetically masculine in its first act. As it wears, the leather softens, becoming slightly spicy with a good hit of vanilla that steers things just this side of sweet.
I’d say it leans masculine, but it’s hugely wearable for anyone who enjoys a darker, moodier scent. Personally, I’d reserve it for colder months and most definitely for evenings. It’s not for the office but if you want to smell like you mean business (and possibly mischief), this is your man.

Projection
Projection is moderate. You won’t be scenting the entire bar, but lean in or stand by someone and someone will definitely notice.
Longevity
The longevity is excellent with a couple of sprays in the evening seeing you through to last orders and beyond.
When I would wear it
To be perfectly honest, Tom Ford Eau d’Ombré Leather isn’t a pop to the shops kind of fragrance. It’s too sexy. Its better saved for nights when you want to get laid. It’s a date night fragrance in a bottle. Not the sweet, first-date sort of scent that tries to impress – this is the one you wear when on your third date when you know you’ve sealed the deal and the sexual chemistry is palpable. It’s seductive, confident, and utterly divine.
