The Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm is, without exaggeration, one of life’s great indulgences. I was shamefully late to the party, finally reviewing the iconic balm just two years ago (read my review here), but its reputation was well deserved. Recently, I’ve been “borrowing” the Emma Hardie Moringa Light Cleansing Gel from my partner’s bathroom shelf, and I can safely say it delivers every bit as much luxury and sensory joy as the original.
What is it?
A lighter version of the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm, designed for those who find the original too rich.
What Do I Think?
Originally designed for oilier skin types who may find the balm too rich, this gel cleanser is, in my view, a crowd-pleaser for all skin types, including my perpetually dry complexion. Moringa, grapeseed, and sweet almond oils nourish deeply, while omega 6, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids work their magic to smooth and moisturize. Sea fennel extract fortifies the skin barrier and balances hydration, and moringa seed peptides defend against pollution and impurities, leaving skin luminous and healthy.
As the name suggests, the formula is lighter than the balm, but it’s no less hydrating. The gel-to-oil texture feels beautifully rich and concentrated, gliding onto the skin without the slippy mess of some oil-based cleansers. It’s perfect for encouraging a little facial massage – think lymphatic drainage and relaxation rolled into one. The Emma Hardie signature scent transforms the experience into something utterly spa-like, making you want to linger a little longer at the sink.
With the addition of water, the gel emulsifies into a satisfying milk, effortlessly removing makeup, sunscreen, and daily grime. And the packaging? A pump-action bottle that’s convenient, mess-free, and ideal for fuss-free mornings or indulgent evenings.

Would I recommend?
If you already love the original balm, this lighter, more versatile version is absolutely worth trying. It maintains all the hallmarks of Emma Hardie’s brilliance – performance, texture, and results – while offering a fresher take. You’ll adore it just as much, I promise.
