Trinny London Reveal Yourself AHA Exfoliant Review

Trinny London Reveal Yourself AHA Exfoliant

I have had a steady stream of messages over the years asking for my thoughts on the Trinny London Reveal Yourself AHA Exfoliant. Mostly from people who read my review of the Tip Toe In PHA Exfoliant and wanted to know whether the stronger sibling was worth the step up. The answer is of course yes.

What is it?

A liquid exfoliant designed to remove dead skin cells, promote an even skin tone and revive dull skin.

What Do I Think?

Reveal Yourself is the brand’s most active exfoliant. It contains lactic and malic acid for deep exfoliation, succinic acid to encourage radiance, an amino acid complex to help balance hydration, and bioactive plankton extract for its soothing properties. On paper it is a well constructed formula. In practice, it delivers.

Trinny London suggest starting with twice weekly use and building up to nightly. My skin can tolerate a lot, but I would not personally recommend nightly exfoliation to most people. Twice a week is sufficient to keep skin healthy and glowing. More than that risks doing more harm than good.

One thing to know before you buy. Like Tip Toe In, this has a faint vinegary smell because it contains no fragrance. It fades quickly and does not linger, but it is worth knowing in advance. This is not a product that smells of anything pleasant. It is a product that works.

And it does work. I use it as a night treatment and wake up to skin that is noticeably smoother, brighter and healthier looking. If texture is your concern, this addresses it quickly. It is also excellent for skin that has become dull or tired, and it comes into its own particularly in winter when dead skin can accumulate and make everything else in your routine feel less effective. Exfoliating properly allows your serums and moisturisers to actually penetrate the skin rather than sit on top of it.

A travel mini is available if you want to test it first, and there is a refill option for the full size, which is always worth supporting when brands offer it.

Would I recommend?

Absolutely. If you are still deciding between this and Tip Toe In, the choice is fairly straightforward. Sensitive skin, or those new to exfoliation, should start with Tip Toe In and its gentler PHA formula. If you have used that and want something with more impact, Reveal Yourself is the logical next step.
