Aldi Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

It’s no secret I’m a lover of Cream Cleansers and a lover of the Aldi skincare. The Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser is one of their skincare products that they stock all year round, and it’s super popular. I picked this up a few months ago during one of my weekly shops just to see what it was like.

Update November 2024: There seems to be a lot of buzz around that this has now been discontinued. I’m hoping it’s just stock issues and it’ll be back as a main stay in the beauty aisle at Aldi. In the meantime, if you want something similar and just as cheap, you might like to try the Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser.

What is it?

A cream cleanser designed to remove makeup, sunscreen and dirt effortlessly without stripping the skin of its moisture.

What Do I Think?

Cream Cleansers are great for removing makeup, sunscreen and dirt gently. They’re particularly good if, like me, you have dry skin because they’re usually created to be moisturising and kind to the skin.

This is inspired by the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, and you can tell. It gives you a very similar experience for a fraction of the price. I’d say the Liz Earle feels a bit richer in texture and I found it a little bit more nourishing than the Aldi version. Scent-wise both have a Eucalyptus scent but I feel the Aldi version is stronger whereas the Liz Earle is a little more subtle.

Aldi have formulated this with Cocoa Butter to soften and condition the skin, and added extracts of Rosemary, Chamomile, White Tea and Eucalyptus Oil.

To use it, you simply apply it to dry skin and massage around.  You can then take the Muslin Cloth, saturate it in warm water and remove. It will easily dissolve and remove your makeup, and it will leave your skin feeling soft, moisturised and clean. You can go in with a second cleanse if double cleansing is your thing.

This does come with a muslin cloth. It’s a bit abrasive and stiff to begin with but it soon softens after a few washes.

Would I recommend?

Yes. If you’re on a budget and you want a good cream cleanser, this would be a good one to try.

Brands Product Description

Specifically formulated to deeply cleanse skin, with the help of the gentle exfoliating muslin cloth. Enriched with Cocoa Butter to soften and condition the skin along with extracts of Rosemary, Chamomile, White Team and Eucalyptus Oil. This rich formulation effectively removes makeup leaving skin feeling smoother and refreshed.

How I Use It

I’d happily use this morning or night, though I would most likely use it at night. I would apply this to dry skin and massage into my skin. I’d then dampen my hands to loosen the texture before rinsing clean, or using the muslin cloth to remove.

Would I Repurchase/Buy?

Yes for sure. It’s cheap, and just a pleasant cream cleanser.

How Much?

his costs just £3.99 for a whopping 200ml so it’s an excellent budget-friendly cleanser. Especially if you wish to spend your money on your serums instead.
