When the Naturium Fermented Camellia Creamy Cleansing Oil launched at SpaceNK last year, I wasted no time in picking it up. Having loved all the Naturium products I’ve tried so far, I couldn’t wait to give one of their cleansers a try.
What is it?
A gel-to-oil cleanser designed to effortlessly remove makeup, sunscreen and dirt from the skin.
What Do I Think?
Unfortunately, this didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Firstly, I think the name is a little misleading. There’s nothing remotely creamy about this cleanser. It’s a gel-to-oil formula and having creamy in the name makes you think there’s going to be an element creaminess to it, except there is none.
It melts down from a gel to an oil and provides enough grip, but enough slip to give yourself a facial massage as you cleanse. If it’s quite cold, you may find that it takes a while to fully melt down into an oil, so you may find yourself having to take time to warm up the product before you get the oily goodness we love from cleansing balms.
I’d say this would work best as a first cleanse for those of you who like a double cleanse. It doesn’t rinse away as easily as I’d like, and leaves a slight residue, so you’re best going in with a second cleanse to totally remove, or wiping it off with a cloth.
I also don’t feel like it emulsifies particularly well. Some of my favourite cleansing balms are the ones where you get a real milky texture when water is added. This one may emulsify a bit, but not enough to my liking.

Would I recommend?
Overall, it’s a little bit of a miss for me. I’m not crazy on double cleansing because it doesn’t suit my skin, so I would prefer something that’s more easily removed. I think you’d probably like this if you like a gel-to-oil formula and like a double cleanse.

How I Use It
I feel this is definitely more of an evening cleanser, though you could use it in the morning if you wanted to. I’d massage into dry skin before (trying to) emulsify it and rinsing away. I’d follow with a second cleanse.
Would I Repurchase/Buy?
The Naturium Fermented Camellia Creamy Cleansing Oil is not my ideal cleanser for the reasons I’ve already described, so probably not. It’s not a bad product, just not for me.
