If you’ve spent more than three minutes on Instagram or TikTok recently, you’ll likely have come across someone praising Phlur fragrances. They’re the latest It-girl scents, worn by influencers, modelled on moodboards, and featured in a thousand vanity shots. Naturally, I was curious and so I added the Deluxe Trio Set (three of their bestsellers in handy 5ml glass vials),to my Christmas list. It’s a brilliant way to properly try a fragrance before investing in the full size.
💚 Phlur Father Figure Review
The standout, by miles. Father Figure is a vivid, green fragrance that somehow manages to feel cooling, intimate and clean all at once. It opens with fig paired with cassis, before softening into orris, vanilla, and sandalwood. Then there’s a subtle whiff of patchouli and musks which give it this very wearable skin feel. It’s probably the most unisex from the set, and the compliments come thick and fast every time I wear it. This is perfect for spring/summer and smells bright, clean, and cheery.
🩷 Phlur Missing Person Review
Missing Person is said to evoke the scent of a lover’s skin, and it does smell like skin. Soft, clean, comforting. It’s built on a base of white musk, florals and orange blossom. It wears very close like nuzzling the nape of someones neck. I see the appeal with this one. It’s intimate – the kind of thing you wear on a Sunday when you’re not leaving the house and want to feel cosy. Lovely for autumn and winter, particularly for those who don’t like obvious fragrance.
🤎 Phlur Vanilla Skin Review
And now the marmite one. Vanilla Skin is a true gourmand. It’s a rich, creamy, edible, sweet vanilla cushioned with soft sandalwood and cashmere. For me, veers too far into the syrupy territory. If you’re into modern gourmands then you’ll probably adore this. But I found it a little too sickly sweet and a little too feminine.

Overall, I’ve completely fallen for Father Figure. It’s fresh, creamy, cool and sensual all at once and a perfect warm-weather fragrance. I’ll be buying the full size without hesitation.
And that’s what these little sets do best. They let you try fragrances in real life, on your own skin, and work out which one becomes part of your fragrance wardrobe.
