Hand sanitiser isn’t exactly the sexiest of topics, but leave it to Aesop to make something as practical as hygiene feel chic. The Aesop Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Mist is one of those products that turns a necessary evil into a small luxury and frankly, I can’t imagine being without it now.
I first came across it after a particularly grimy trip on the Tube, when the thought of touching anything else made me wince. I ducked into an Aesop store to sneak a quick wash, and instead, a sales assistant (to whom I will be forever grateful) suggested I try this.
This is an alcohol-based spray, so it does the job of purifying hands when you’re miles away from soap and water, but it’s far less brutal than the bog standard sanitisers we’ve all been through in recent years. Thanks to aloe vera and saccharide isomerate, it cleans without leaving the skin tight, flaky, or the cuticles wrecked. I wouldn’t go as far as to call it hydrating, but crucially, it doesn’t dehydrate either which is more than can be said for 90% of its competition.

The fragrance, though, is what really sells it. Woody, citrusy, herby and properly grownup, it smells like something you’d happily wear as a cologne. I’ve had people in the office comment on it, asking what perfume I’d just sprayed, only to be astonished when I revealed it was a hand sanitiser.
The packaging, too, is as practical as it is stylish. A fine mist in a sturdy little bottle, it’s the sort of thing you can pull out on a packed train or in a grotty public loo without attracting stares. And frankly, it comes into its own in those moments we’ve all had when someone breezes out of a cubicle without bothering to wash their hands. A quick mist of this and you’re spared the horror.
It’s a small, fragrant saver, something I feel is worth the £13 it cost. The Aesop Resurrection Rinse-Free Hand Mist is something I’ll always keep in my bag.
