I’ve been in a long-term relationship with milky hydrating toners lately, and Farmacy Honey Milk Hydrating Essence is one I’ve recently finished to the last drop.

What Do I Think?
My skin is on the dry side, and I’ve learned that layering hydration is far more effective than relying on one heavyweight cream to do all the work. This essence delivers that first, comforting soak of moisture that skin drinks up immediately.
It’s a restorative formula which is all about soothing and hydrating. Hawaiian white honey and chamomile calm and soften, while ceramides get on with the important business of reinforcing the skin barrier. If your skin feels fragile, tight or generally out of sorts, this is the kind of product that helps bring it back into line..
One of its greatest virtues is how well it behaves. No matter what I applied on top (serum, SPF, moisturiser) it never once pilled or slipped about. On particularly parched days, I layered it twice with no ill effects, and my skin felt noticeably more comfortable for it.
The texture is thicker than many milky essences, which suited my dry skin perfectly. It has a cushioning quality that feels more like a serum than a toner, but it still absorbs quickly. I suspect oilier skins could even use it as a very light moisturiser in warmer months.
Would I recommend?
Yes. It’s not flashy, and it doesn’t promise miracles. What it does offer is steady, reliable hydration and a sense of calm which, for stressed skin, is often exactly what’s needed.
