I’m still exploring some of The Ordinary’s newer launches, and the The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser immediately caught my eye. I’ve used their Squalane Cleanser countless times over the years, so finally seeing a proper cream cleanser from them felt like a moment. As someone who adores cream cleansers (they’re my personal favourite type) I couldn’t resist trying it.
What is it?
A cream cleanser designed to remove makeup, dirt and sunscreen.
What Do I Think?
This is a plant-derived glycolipid formulation designed to cleanse while respecting the skin barrier, leaving hydration intact. The texture is a non-foaming, water-based gel-cream that glides effortlessly across the skin. It’s light like a gel but cushioned with the soothing comfort of a cream. After use, my skin feels soft, refreshed, hydrated and comfortable. It never leaves my skin feeling tight or stripped. If you have sensitive skin, you’ll be very happy here.
I use it on dry skin, massaging it to dissolve sunscreen before rinsing with warm water. It emulsifies into a faintly milky texture (less milky than some cream cleansers), but enough to give that satisfying massage-and-emulsify moment. You can rinse with water alone, or use a damp cloth if you prefer.
There’s no scent, which is a bonus if you’re sensitive to fragrance. It removes sunscreen and light makeup very effectively, but if you wear heavy or waterproof makeup, this might struggle on its own. Think of it as an ideal second cleanse on those days.

Would I recommend?
At £11.10, it’s undeniably good value. Simple, effective, gentle and hydrating. Definitely the kind of cleanser that earns its place in your routine. For cream cleanser devotees or for those with dry skin, this one is worth trying.
