Mixa Urea Cica Repair Renewing Cream Review

Mixa Urea Cica Repair Renewing Cream

There is a particular kind of annual reckoning that arrives sometime in late April, when the temperature nudges upward just enough to make a coat feel excessive and you realise, that the arms and legs you have kept covered since October are going to need to be presented to the world again shortly. Winter is not kind to limbs. Months under wool and denim tend to produce skin that is rough, dull and in need of some reviving before it is ready for public viewing. The solution, is to start now rather than to panic in June. And the Mixa Urea Cica Repair Renewing Cream is a very good reason to do exactly that.

What is it?

A cream formulated to repair, soothe, and intensely hydrate dry, rough, and sensitive skin on the body, face, and hands.

What Do I Think?

Formulated with 10% urea alongside amino acids, this is a seriously purposeful body cream. Urea is one of those ingredients that earns its reputation. It’s a gentle exfoliant and humectant that softens rough, thickened skin over time without the drama of more aggressive actives. The amino acids work alongside it to soothe and support the skin barrier, and the combined effect on skin that is bumpy, flaky or simply neglected is fantastic. It is particularly well suited to keratosis pilaris, those small rough bumps that congregate on upper arms and shins, and it has been doing reliable work on mine.

The texture is rich and emollient in a way that signals it means business, without leaving the sticky, reluctant-to-absorb finish that heavier creams can produce. Whilst it’s perfect to use on your face, I personally find the texture better suited to the body.

One note on the fragrance. The brand describes an orange blossom scent, which is not quite what I would call it. There is something medicinal to my nose, though it is by no means unpleasant and fades quickly enough. It is simply worth knowing before you buy if fragrance matters to you.

Would I recommend?

At ten pounds for 400ml, the size alone means you can apply it with the kind of generosity that body care actually requires, without rationing it anxiously. Start now, and by the time you need bare arms in earnest, you will be rather glad you did.
