One of my favoruite fragrances for the warmer months would absolutely be the Terre d’Hermes Eau de Toilette by Hermes. This is the kind of scent that’s hard not to love. ย

My Thoughts
Jean-Claude Ellena created this in 2006 and it remains, two decades on, one of the masculine fragrances in existence. It opens with a burst of grapefruit and orange that is bright without being sweet and then it settles into something considerably more interesting. Flint, pepper and a woody vetiver base give it something unlike almost anything else on the market. It smells, as the name suggests, of the earth, but in the most refined and considered way imaginable.
I personally love it as a holiday scent. I will of course wear it when in England, but to me it just does something glorious in heat.ย
It is, in the very best sense, a grown-up fragrance. Not showy, not trying too hard, not chasing trends. Just exceptionally well made and so wearable. One of the great modern classics, and one that richly deserves its reputation.

Projection
It offers reasonable projection that doesn’t clear a room but makes its presence known at the right moments.
Longevity
The longevity on skin is respectable for an eau de toilette, lasting a solid six to eight hours.

When I would wear it
What makes Terre D’Hermes Eau De Toilette genuinely remarkable is its versatility. It works in a suit on a Tuesday morning and works equally well at the weekend in considerably more relaxed circumstances. It is present without being overpowering, and it has the particular quality that all great fragrances share of smelling slightly different on different skin, which means it never becomes generic regardless of how many people wear it.
