Dove has long been one of my high-street heroes. For years, I’ve relied on their deodorants and body washes, so it’s a bit baffling that I’ve never tried their body lotions. That changed during a routine food shop at Sainsbury’s, when I spotted them priced so reasonably they practically leapt into my trolley. A quick sleight of hand, paid for out of the joint household account (which, yes, is strictly for bills and groceries), and I was off. Surely a little self-care won’t upset the domestic budget?
Dove has always nailed fragrance. Clean, comforting, and universally appealing, their signature scent is a hug in a bottle. If your skin veers toward the scaly, bumpy, or rough side, this is the lotion for you. Infused with AHAs, olive oil, and vitamin B3, it gently encourages natural cell turnover, leaving skin smooth, silky, and deeply nourished. It’s more fragranced than the Essential Care version, but the scent doesn’t linger too long. I’ve found it works best when applied to slightly damp skin, locking in moisture beautifully.
At under a fiver each, these lotions are budget-friendly additions to any body-care routine, delivering quality well beyond their price point.
